A Different Flavor of Genius

Dear Subscriber,

I go to great lengths to NOT use this list as a place to send out
"Check out this video!" messages (well, except for videos I helped
make), because it gets old fast, and there are a zillion things
worth watching. However, this time I must make an exception. I can
hardly think of a message any more DIFFERENT in tone and flavor
from the stuff I do, while still being something I can 100% support
and cheer for. Now, I could say the video is "cute" or
"entertaining"--both of which would be true--but I feel more
compelled to say that it's actually profound, and there is
downright genius beneath the cuteness.

Gauntlet-Chuck, Part Two

Dear Subscriber,

The professor who teaches history and political science (mentioned
in my last e-mail) at first seemed willing to have a debate with
me, but he says that due to "rude" e-mails he's been getting, he's
having second thoughts. It's really damn hard to get statists to
ever have real debates, so it would be nice if people didn't scare
them away when they would otherwise have been willing. Gack.

Dear Subscriber,

I just sent the following e-mail to a professor who teaches history
and political science, and who wrote an article in the Canada Free
Press criticizing anarchism. Start by reading the article at the
link shown below. Then the letter will make more sense.

Larken

- -------------------------

Dear Dr. Owens,

Today I was directed to your article in the Canada Free Press
entitled "You Need Limits to be Free," found here:

I was considering writing a response, but it occurred to me that it
might be more interesting and useful to have a live discussion on
the topic instead, if you would be up for that. So I guess this is
me either inviting you to have a discussion and/or challenging you
to a debate, depending on how you want to look at it. But by
"debate" I do not mean what usually passes for debate: two people
yelling assertions and accusations at each other. I mean a civil
exchange of ideas and a calm examination of philosophical
principles.

Your time is valuable, and I wouldn't expect you to take the time
to have a discussion with every single person who might disagree
with you. (I know I don't.) But in this case, your ideas and
opinions would have an audience which I hope would be large enough
to make it worth your while. If you are agreeable, I would want to
record and publicly post our discussion--in complete, unedited form-
- -on my web site and YouTube channel. As you may or may not know,
I'm a somewhat well-known advocate of voluntaryism and a stateless
society (a.k.a. "anarchy"), and my YouTube channel has over 11,000
subscribers, and a total of over 1.4 million video views. I'm sure
our discussion would get tens of thousands of views, at the very
least.

If you're willing to have such a discussion, I'm open to whatever
format or setting you prefer, moderated or not, structured or "free
form." Please let me know if you would be interested.

Sincerely,

Larken Rose

Made It Home

Dear Subscribers,

For those who car, I made it home alive. I'm too dead (figuratively
speaking) to give any details at the moment, but I made it. Thanks
again for all those who made that possible.

Sincerely,

On the Road Again

NED MESSAGE-----

Dear Subscriber,

Well, I can't say this trip hasn't been eventful. Once again,
thanks to a few fellow trouble-makers, I'm on the road again, after
my SECOND catastrophic car failure since Arizona. And since you
folks were so drastically generous after Major Disaster #1 (broken
timing chain in the middle of Texas), I'm pretty sure I am still
going to more than break even for the trip (even after complete
engine failure in Alabama). Maybe I shouldn't say that until I'm
actually home. If all goes well from now on, I'll only be getting
home nine days later than originally planned. (Gack.)

Sincerely,

Larken Rose
